Reasons to Worry

Google Trend Analysis

Padmavati with other Related terms :

   Different Padmavati words trend :

Doing some trend analysis regarding our society’s interest in movie , politics, and history.  Here are some observations:

1)    People are more interested in Padmavati movie rather than Padmavati the Queen. There is almost zero interest in Padmavati search term except for when there is some controversy.
2)    People don’t want to know about Malik Muhammed Jayasi , the person who actually wrote about Padmavati.

3)     As you can clearly see there is no comparison between interest in Bollywood personalities and historical figures  or events till become controversial.

4) There is at least 4 times more interest in Padmavati the movie than the Padmavati the queen ene during the peak periods.
5)  Others

What I was specially looking is is there really a reason to worry about regarding movies presenting facts incorrectly in movies.  I was expecting that when such controversy erupts people start taking more interest in historical events and figures  that surrounded those events. Also I was trying to analyze if such interests last longer than controversy itself or people actually forget about history and just talk about controversy after a moment. I am still leaving responsibility of such judgements and conclusions  to person reading this article. I am trying to get more facts and  my analysis is still on. If this analysis evokes any interest in people i'll continue further on this topic.

History's Controversy

In a society where history books are read less and Bollywood movies are watched more , where its very common that we draw our knowledge of history from movies rather than from any other means and where Our Authors, scientists, leaders , real war heroes and great sports personalities have less impact than the actors (playing their parts in movies or otherwise) in Bollywood, Its really difficult to ignore movies which failed to teach us history in the way we liked our history to be.

Since we are almost sure that our children will skip history from text books but they ll for sure watch a Bollywood flick, we have every reason to be concerned about how a Bollywood Director’s imagination is going to adversely impact character of our society and our children.

Still I failed to understand why People didn’t encourage More Soharab Modi’s in our Cinema. I am with many rich and influential people for opposing movies which ‘Teach’ unwanted history but I request them to promote the cinema that shows correct nay ‘desirable’ history.

Akhand Bharat and Pakistani People

Here is the question for all those who believe in the dream of Akhand Bharat : after realizing the dream will you want to integrate at least 20 crores hostile population that have been hating you when you were living in Khandit Bharat?  I don't think we are insane enough to think that after defeating that country we'll get around 20 crore slaves on our disposal and we'll make them work whatever we want. Almost every person among us with some common sense believes that after the realization of any such dream probably we'll also have a responsibility to make those people part of our democratic system we are so proud of.

If you think that is what you are going to do. Then probably it is as important to defeat an army of the enemy country as  to win hearts of that country's people. This will not only strengthen your position but also weaken that of our adversary.
Our mighty army is capable of defeating the army of any enemy country. In fact, ours is the army that is focused on solely that task. unlike ours ,  the army we are dealing with has not only to attempt to win a war but also make efforts to justify the war. Their justification of war has a strong basis in convincing their people that those living at another side of the border are their enemies who think bad about them , hate them , dont accept their existence , always try to insult them and attempt to break their country. Till that army is able to build up this narrative it'll feel stronger. But like we cut food supply line to weaken an army we also need to cut supply line of this impression that army is trying to create on its people. This will probably weaken their situation in time like this when war is looming and they are trying to find support in same in which cutting food supply would weaken then in time of actual war.

On contrary, any initiative of ours that bolsters this position of enemy army actually makes that army stronger and we loose on an important weapon that is at our disposal to use against them. If we keep propagating hatred and negative agenda against people of the country which we think is our enemy country then they'll never question their own institutions working against us.We may probably lose a chance of creating a class of people within that society that actually hates its own establishments in those establishments' vile attempts.
Not only does our enemy wants support for justification for continued rivalry against us it also wants funds to continue that. just think about this. How can they justify to their public purchase of multiple F-16s ? Nepal doesn;t want that , Pakistan does. That is  why Pakistani establishment wants this environment of fear to prevail in their country.
IF there are people to people contact between India and Pakistan we should probably make it more favorable for us so that our enemies realize that they should stop it. For example if Pakistani artists are working here in India instead of sending them back we may make more strict rules on their entry so that whole situation is in our favor and either they leave from their own wish or Pakistani government start feeling a danger in situation that it is going to have a bunch of India supporters in its own society.

The Colour Is Actually Red

सावधान कुछ देर नहीं है लाल सवेरा आने में .
लाल भवानी प्रकट हुई है 'जे एन यु के तहखाने में' ..

(sorry baba Nagarjun I really respect you. I am changing your words a little because world has changed and Telangana is now actually ruled by supporter of a slightly different  colour : saffron. So no hope of Lal Bhawani there at least for few more years).

To me it is an achievement of government (BJP , RSS etc if you mean them by government) that they can make a person of  left ideology to talk about being within limits of constitution and  salute bravery and martyrdom of our soldier on border. Its  good to see explicit expression of faith in Indian constitution by someone associated with an ideology that only vaguely expresses its views on a national constitution. Also good to see a socialist (maybe marxist) addressing  mob of intellectuals holding flag of nation.
It is  not very common scenario I heard of happening in an assembly organized by a left leader. But you can feel frustration when you see word 'socialism' being stressed and compare it with reality : capitalism everywhere. Whether capitalism is good or bad is not a topic here though. you can get more about that 150 years old question at many other places.
If you think of a fund raising program to support China during indo-china war or celebrating death of policemen while fighting maoist then those are the kind of noble causes you can associate lefts with.
Yes of course there are shades of red and some of them are darker than others but they are all product of same failed unrealistic dream.
Why is 'revolution' main theme of talks among leftists ?
Do we really always need a revolution in our society ? There comes a time when there is chaos , depravity , unease and uncertainty in society. You might not have a big common goal but you might have hundreds of small tasks to perform. Your solutions are not same in both scenarios. This situation is not very healthy for some people. This is a challenge for people trying to grab power. They can not project a big monster to fight for before masses to mobilize them. So how can they get such monster that can serve their purpose ? Manufacture one.
Left , right , middle , side, corner ,all wings have their own manufactured monster to project before nation. Idea of revolution is that of  a left party.
But our problem always is not how to change the system and replace it with new one. sometimes to solve your problems you might not need  a giant step. you might need plenty of small steps to solve all your small problems to make a stable , functioning and prosper society. But that is an irritating , lengthy , boring and not so rewarding task. But that is not what demands revolution . Revolution advocated by lefts means a sudden overall change. replace old guard with new for no apparent reason and do things at whim on name of liberation, equality and welfare of sarwhara.

Is that the situation in india now ? It was before 1947. you had a common cause of getting freedom. you needed a revolution to change the system. But  you got your freedom now.
Nation achieved what it needed. Several ideologies didn't. Socialism was one of them. There are others too and we can come up with similar analysis for them too but today I am talking about shades of red.
It is not very difficult to appeal to the emotions of people on name of hardship they are facing in a developing society and associate them with functioning of  system governing them. Of course the system which is responsible for solving their problem can not just catapult them from state A to state B , from poverty  to prosperity without them feeling that it is happening. We have to be in transition phase and it is not very uncommon to doubt functioning of system when we are in transition. How can we be sure that at the end we ll reach where we have to and not somewhere else. It is also very easy to appeal this uneasiness and mood of frustration and exploit it. However  this is the bread  and butter of politicians in general in a developing society. While some take this opportunity to keep things on track others advocate a revolution in one form or other. Actually they need revolution more than the nation needs. In fact nation and society will do very well if solution of small problems are presented. We don't always sell our farmland if crop in a season is not good. we just come up with ways like making our land more fertile and hope for a good season.
Our country is in that state now. When we are told about a problem in country our first approach should not be to change our system and we must be beware of any such attempts by others.

Eating Maggi Digesting News : A Consumer's View on Controversy

I am not  writing this as an expert on any matter related to current controversy around Maggi noodles in my country. I am a consumer who used to eat Maggi like many others whenever it was a suitable option.Actually it was so quite often for anyone of my generation who lived  years of hostel life and bachelor life away from one's family. I am well aware that it is not a  healthy option for my meal but it is  a convenient one. I spent my childhood when Maggi became as much part of our life as any other popular food. People used to write their stories around their experience with Maggi. Its manufacturer even once invited people to share their experiences.
in our kitchen you can almost always find it. Next to salt packet it was most abundant commodity in pile of' hard to find anything' stock of our messy kitchen'
Such has been my association with Maggi. and I am sure many of my generation must have had even closer.

Now one fine morning I hear this news that so much loved Maggi contains some harmful substance in excess quantity ,which is not good for my health.

Food Safety regulators from UP found that Maggi contain hazardous substaince called lead in excess quantity. Connotations from government were that not only should  Maggi be banned but also should all celebrities who ever endorsed Maggi be prosecuted.

What the hell !! So my infatuation was with someone so poisonous? Have I and other friends of mine  been cheated since so long by silent sweetheart so difficult to find in modern time ? and who were the  culprits :  company producing those tasty sugar coated poisonous thread and Celebrities endorsing them ?
is that all ?
But along with these accomplices my frustration and anger was also with my saviours !  Where the hell were my protector Food safety regulators were when I was so mercilessly fed this poisonous substance ! I was ruining my health and they were  all along watching in silence and probably in agreement.
Later I came to know that to protect me there is a ministry and an army of able and trained regulators well paid and well fed. They were able to destroy any such attempt of harming my health as they are doing now but they did nothing !

I wonder if they did their job fine even then and probably Maggi came clean earlier and It become poisonous very recently. Maybe it gone naughtier after being nice for so long. But in that case why this change in character is being portrayed as true nature ? There has not been any talk so loud as to reach my ears till now.

Well if you think i am being soft on accomplices , you are very much mistaken. I have started hating Nestle , the manufacturer of Maggie. I give a damn about your claim that you have rigorous quality control process. I have more faith in process of our government after all they took 32 years to come up with a conclusion and if someone is spending so much on anything its impossible  one is wrong.

Mr Amitabh bachhan , I respected you a lot Sir but I respect Mr Ram Vilas Paswan more. And since he is saying that you should be prosecuted so am I.
you endorsed something so bad for my health and expecting me to be your admirer !
Now I am thinking about a  'Uncle' who used to sell Maggi in shop below our apartment. Never knew that soft spoken , humorous and honest man was so cruel as to sell excess lead containing Maggi to me. What?  he didn't know about that ? So what ? Mr Amitabh bachchan might also not be knowing. But am I sparing him ? didnt you listen to Mr Paswan ?
I am also not happy with my friends who spent good time eating maggi together. O dear Lord we were happy seeing each other eating something so poisonous !!

I might have digested a lot of Lead but how ll I digest all these facts after this sad news !

Gaza again !!

Recently i confronted on many forums making a case against religions.
The new hot topic has been israel - hamas conflict in land of palestine.

I don't want to go in details of historical
and political reasons and solutions of this decade long problem. But i want to emphasize one fact that is crucial in solving this problem. The thing that is most glaring and the thing that we ignore most! The religious hegemony !

First i want to discuss why religion is problem for solutions of any such issues in general.
Most of the worldly problems can be solved by convincing involved parties that setllements of issues are necessary for peaceful existence of their and fellow human being. Its not very difficult to understand that give and take policy works in almost every human conflicts! Even in extreme and in most of the cases when a war is won , certain objectives are achived by victors and penalties are paid by the losers.
It leaves a vaccum for losers but a sense of satisfaction for winners. How long does these lost ? It depends on the objective and reasons for war !
Most of the wars are faught , as we say in hindi for ' jar,  joru and jameen' ( wealth ,  women and land).
Hardly any  of these wars last more than a generation because except for land the other causes dont even exists after generation. Your beutiful woman grows old and dies and your wealth is spent.
Wars on land are the ones that are more durable but they also need a justification for their continuation. Sometimes one generation is more nationalist than other and it gives more value to land than earlier or former one.

To quote an example from indian history , Rana shakti singh did not give as much value to the disputes with mughals as great maharana pratap singh gave. Thus ending one rajput -mughal enimity in one generation.

There has been one other kind of war in west , and that is related to religion!
Religious war , crusades , jihads inquisitions etc.
They are not so common to indians that's why that '  jar joru jameen' thing doesn't cover this as a reason.

Though we had some disputes between budhhists and hindus but we agreed to use shaastras instead of shastras! So mostly peace prevailed !

Now there are some strange things associated with these religious wars. They not only cover for results in this life but also extend their services for a life to come! Rewards of winning in such wars are almost  equal to or better than rewards of losing them. This philosophy makes this warfare sadly an everlasting phenomenon! Because they are faught to fulfil wish of God they.

This further makes any reasonable and rational negotiation with fighters of such wars very difficult. You can not offer to them anything that can compansate their loses of after life. You can never convince them that in this life by giving in they can do good for a lot of people. Just because they are in service of god , by killing and torturing others , they are promised a reward in after life that can be exchanged with nothing here in this world.

This divine service also makes these people distinct and they consider themselves superior to other felow human beings. They go to such  an extent as to never be ready to consider others equal to themselves. Its very difficult to convince them that its good to be on good terms and give some consession and convinience to others. Its just too much to ask for.

Now just consider the opposite case. If No religion or divine force exists to interfere in their lives. It would be very easy to settle scores based on the worldly rules and benefits of each other.
Divisive force ll simply not exist and you ll not find a reason to deal differently with a person who is miles apart from you in comparison to you who is very near. I am not saying that  concept of 'our people ' will not be there, but all afairs will be settled on pragmatic terms and ll not be based on divine command.

Comming back to the situation of israel and palestine, it it is not for religion, then how difficult it will be to convince jews that people in pathetic conditions in gaza strip and in weat bank are the felow humans no different from them and they have right to live with dignity ?
How difficult it ll be to convince hamas that jews are not their enemy and if they are ready to live peacefully there is no difference between them.
I am not saying that it will be easy to solve issues , but hinderence will not be a
Divine one that would trump all efforts.

Hope peace and sanity prevails and innocent lives are not lost !

Revolutions in middle east in Indian Context

India does not need this sort of mass revolution. We are no more in a repression of tyranny.we are dealing with problems actually.when we talk about corruption and relate it to politicians ,we actually try to confuse ourselves.Who are these politicians ? they don't belong to particular cast ,community , dynasty , belief , tribe or anything in particular. They are found everywhere and they come from any social background. just make a list of corrupt politicians and you ll find some of them were among us representing a figure from mass.
Politicians are not imported or imposed on us.We choose them.and if someone from our self is becoming corrupt then who is on fault ?
We need a introspection , awareness , mass movement not to revolt against our system but to understand it better and cope up with it.We need efforts that are more difficult than that required for a revolution. Our challenges may not be overcome in a generations but they include, at least, to make the last man in India to be able to understand the work of first man of India. Fishermen on the costs of Kerala should be knowing how their fate is being decided in some closed chambers in new Delhi.Their voice should be loud enough to reach there whenever they want.Same is true about a suiciding farmer in Maharashtra and a tribesman somewhere in Madhya Pradesh. Even if we think that we could achieve that by a revolution that revolution will not be a sort of revolution that we have seen recently. Good thing is that we are moving forward in correct direction but the pace is slow.We may not see changes in time of our generation which is too short period in history of a nation or mankind but if we do our duties well we will be in a better world sooner.

Vasudhav Kutumbakam!
